Gillian Lee Smith is originally from Scotland but now lives and works in the North-East of England just a short drive from the sea. Graduating in Performance Costume from Edinburgh College of Art in 2006, Gillian is now inspired by isolated coastal communities, history and storytelling in her paintings and artwork. Working in oils, acrylics and pastels with a particular emphasis on drawing her current work is called We all Cast Shadows.
Gillian runs workshops and retreats in both the UK and overseas and has recently developed and taught a highly successful e-course called Unearth, Gather, Create for artists wishing to ‘create art that resonates’. A brand new follow on course ‘Drawn to Expression’ has just been launched.
